Fashion Tape
Have you ever heard of fashion tape? Ever used double sided-tape for your home projects? Well it’s a very similar concept! It is basically double-sided tape that you can use on your clothes and even put on your skin (although I would caution you to test it out on your skin first).
This blog is going to outline different ways you can use fashion tape to your advantage to always look put together all day long whether it be for everyday use or for any unique occasion.
Keep it all in line
Nowadays, wearing a jewelry stack of bracelets and necklaces is very in, but have you ever put on your jewelry and it gets all tangled up together? It happens to me all the time especially after working out or sleeping because I don’t always take off my jewelry before bed like I should. So, one thing you could do is add a bit of fashion tape to the back of your neck or on your wrist and use to keep your necklaces in place.
Keeping it Covered
Oftentimes, with deep cut v-neck shirts or a nice tied blouse, one has to be super careful when bending down to make sure you aren’t showing too much. I have used fashion tape multiple times on the inside of clothing to keep my tops snug on myself. I haven’t tried it before but I am sure you could use some tape on skirts or dresses that have slits up the thigh, especially if you are wearing a nice slit dressing at a wedding on a windy beach!
South Asian Clothes
Not sure how big of a south asian audience I have, but I use fashion tape the most when I am wearing Indian clothes (chaniya cholis, sarees, and kurtas). As you may know, south asian clothes are often extremely expensive and we have always seen our moms holding their pleats together on their sarees or draping their dupatta to stay in place with safety pins. Often though, when you take the safety pin out, it leaves tiny holes in the clothes or if you accidentally tug on the safety pin, you may even rip the cloth. Using fashion tape solves this problem for you. I would say though, that if you have a heavy lengha, you would have to use multiple pieces to keep your dupatta in place.
Miscellaneous
I just listed above the top 3 ways I have used fashion tape but there are so many different uses that I have heard others use. For instance, you can use tape to hold down hijabs, fill gaps between buttons to create a hidden button, hold down pocket squares, hold down the end of a belt in place, keeping your no-show socks up in place, fix a helm, etc.
